If you're interested in purchasing a Huntington Beach CA home for sale or just planning to visit the city, be prepared to enter a wondrous neighborhood filled with sun, surf and sand!

Huntington Beach is Orange County's most colorful cities with 8.5 miles of wide sandy beaches. The city's development history dates back to 1895 when the Southern Pacific Railroad built a connection from rural areas to the Holly Sugar Plant which later relocated to Santa Ana. Philip A. Stanton and Colonel H.S. Finley recognized the potential of the area in 1901 and formed a syndicate called the West Coast Land and Water Co. that developed the land under the name Pacific City. After selling the development to group of investors (including Henry E. Huntington), the city's new name became Huntington Beach.

Huntington Beach is a full service city that includes departments such as the City Administrator's office, Administrative Services, Building and Safety, Planning, Library Services, Public Works, Community Services, Economic Development, and Police and Fire. Elected city positions include the City Attorney, City Clerk and City Treasure.
